Un año más ha llegado ese momento incómodo a la par que emocionante en el que los nominados a los Oscar son dados a conocer. Con los Globos de Oro recientemente entregados, podemos hacernos una idea de por dónde van a ir los tiros en cuanto a los Oscar se refiere. Aunque, para qué negarlo, siempre se espera alguna que otra sorpresa transgresora, por aquello de acabar un poco con la idea que tanto politiza estos premios y todo lo que les rodea.

Un año más, estamos ante ese rifirrafe que nos hace dividirnos entre un tipo de cine y otro, entre lo más low cost, entre lo más comercial, entre lo low cost pero comercial y lo comercial pero low cost. De una manera u otra, ha vuelto a suceder. A las 14:30 hora española el mundo volvía su mirada al cine de la industria más conocida del planeta: la de Hollywood.

El actor Chris Pine, la presidenta de la Academia (Cheryl Boone Isaacs) y los directores Alfonso Cuarón y J.J.Abrams han hecho pública la lista de candidaturas para la estatuillas doradas más conocidas del planeta. Como novedad, en esta ocasión se han dado a conocer todas las nominaciones al completo, concretamente para 24 candidaturas.
La gala se celebrará el próximo 22 de Febrero en el ya mítico Teatro Dolby, y será presentada por el actor Neil Patrick Harris.

Sorpresas ha habido. Marion Cotillard, pese a todo pronóstico, vuelve a estar nominada, por su maravillosa interpretación en Deux Jours Une Nuit, el último drama social de los Hermanos Darndenne. Deja fuera a Jennifer Aniston, en la categoría de mejor actriz.

IDA, la maravillosa película polaca de Pawel Pawlikowski se ha colado entre las nominadas a Mejor Fotografía. El aire y el blanco y negro de Lukasz Zal y Ryszard Lenczewski merecen la nominación con mayúsculas.

No están nominados dos directores que han dado mucho que hablar este año: David Fincher y Christopher Nolan, por sus Gone Girl e Interstellar. Algo que podíamos esperar de Nolan (poco querído en general por los premios) pero no de Fincher.

Ausencias notables también en la categoría de animación: The LEGO Movie ha quedado fuera de las nominaciones en beneficio de The Tale of the Princess Kaguya, aunque pensamos que tendría que ser otra la que tendría que haber quedado fuera de esta categoría…
